NEW Airtech
VOX PRIMA – phono preamplifier

31 July 2026

Airtech introduces VOX PRIMA, a dual-chassis phono preamplifier designed for vinyl enthusiasts who refuse to compromise.

The design begins with a fundamental choice: the power supply and amplification stages are housed in separate enclosures. The power supply features an inductive coupling system, an active capacitance multiplier, and dual linear regulation, delivering an exceptionally low noise floor— up to 91 dB S/N in MM mode —allowing every nuance of the groove to emerge with remarkable clarity.

The amplification circuit is entirely feedback-free and built in a true dual-mono configuration, with two completely independent circuit boards for the left and right channels and no shared signal path. Current-mode equalization, combined with 1% tolerance polypropylene capacitors, ensures RIAA accuracy within ±0.1 dB.

One of the VOX PRIMA's defining features is its triple equalization capability. Alongside the standard RIAA curve for modern LPs, it also provides Columbia and Decca playback curves, essential for the faithful reproduction of many mono recordings made before the widespread adoption of the RIAA standard in the 1950s. It's a feature rarely found in contemporary phono stages and a welcome addition for collectors of historical recordings.

Flexibility is equally comprehensive. Users can select from four gain settings (40/50 dB for MM, 60/70 dB for MC), eight input impedance values, four capacitance settings, engage a subsonic filter, and connect up to four turntables via two single-ended and two balanced inputs. Both RCA and balanced XLR outputs are provided. Each input can store its own configuration, simply by pressing and holding the input selector.

Airtech VOX PRIMA will soon be available through authorized Airtech dealers.
